“Brisa”

This little bear is 2 3/4" tall (without her headdress), made of saddle deerskin, and costumed as a colorful Mexica (me-SHEE-ka) Dancer.   The Mexica/Aztecs are Native American people who dominated Northern Mexico in the 16th century.  In 1325, they founded the town of TENOCHTITLAN (modern Mexico City).  Dancing was and is a very important part of the Mexica heritage.  Ritual dancers wear beautiful headdresses with exotic feathers, spectacular costumes and mark the rhythm of their dances with Chachayoe seeds around their ankles.

Brisa is a limited edition of 20.
